L'Chaim - Jewish Consumer Wellness App

STATUS: ARCHIVED (2025)

Product Strategy Lead / Founder

What It Was
Inspired by Duolingo, L’Chaim was a consumer wellness app concept built around Jewish identity, daily practice, and lightweight spiritual habit formation. The product explored how culturally specific communities could use mobile-first design, gamification, and mascot-led interaction to make daily rituals feel more approachable, consistent, and emotionally engaging.

My Role

As founder, I led the product concept, brand strategy, onboarding architecture, feature planning, mascot direction, and go-to-market positioning. The app was designed around daily mitzvah quests, streaks, holiday tracking, interactive wisdom, and a friendly AI-inspired mascot experience that encouraged users to build small habits around Jewish practice and identity.

During early validation, I successfully onboarded an initial Jewish congregation of 700 members and tested the product with real users. While the concept showed interest at the community level, the early Day 1 to Day 7 to Day 30 engagement and retention metrics were not strong enough to indicate clear product-market fit. Based on those signals, I made the decision to archive the venture rather than continue investing resources into a product that had not yet earned consistent user behavior that is required for a mobile consumer app.
Results

L’Chaim became a valuable case study in identity-based product design, consumer psychology, religious and cultural community building, onboarding strategy, and the importance of measuring real behavior instead of relying only on initial interest.
